Look closely at the foreigners buzzing around a hospital tent above one of Haiti's biggest earthquake-refugee camps and a face stands out: There, carrying aion kinah the box of supplies, that's Sean Penn.

Now he's guiding a Haitian girl to waiting doctors. Now he's lobbying the chief of U.N. peacekeeping operations to provide better security for the camp's 45,000 people. And now he's talking to the press.

"These people are going to have nowhere to go, by and large, in the rainy season," ...

Small business chief pushes for more loans to little guy

Since taking the helm of the Small Business Administration last April, businesswoman Karen Mills has drawn praise for aggressive moves to try to boost lending to small firms amid a deep runescape money economic downturn.

Chief among these efforts was a push to have the government guarantee 90 percent of a loan to a firm that otherwise wouldn't be getting a loan from a bank.

Mills told McClatchy that she's trying to rebrand the agency to shed its image of a slow-moving, paper-intensive bureaucracy. ...

Film development near London?

Hi, just getting into lomography. Does anybody know of a good shop to get my films developed in south-west Lomdon/surrey area, uk?

Somewhere that does every thing without needing to have my films sent off for a week or whatever. Black and white, 120, slide, negative, x-processing ect.

perhaps a smaller unfranchised private camera shop or something?

Thanks

also, does anyone know about developing infra-red films?

I have a question about the cable release/cable release socket. I want to be able to use my LC-A+ for a variety of photos, including self portraits. Is there any way to make (or buy) a self-timer that fits into the cable release socket? Any ideas on what to do? I don't just want to use a really long cable release, I'm looking for something that can actually be timed. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Which camera?

Firstly, hello to the new forums

I am quite new to the Lomography scene, but I want to get involved and I think a camera would be a good start. So basically, I would like to know what camera you think I should get. I've been thinking about either the Holga 35mm or the Diana F+.

I will probably have to order online and I live in the UK so postage and packaging charges can be an issue. I would say my budget is about <£50.

Any suggestions/links/advice will be warmly welcomed. ...

Horizon focusing

I just ordered a Horizon camera, and I was wondering what the deal with focusing is. I know I could wait until I get it and read the instructions, but I want to know now! LOL Is it like a pinhole where everything is in focus? Or like an LCA where you pick the focal range? Or what? The microsite doesn't mention this.

Thanks!

I declare this forum... opened.

Have fun!

You already noticed that I've made 2 parts: a Dutch and an English part... The Dutch should help me find people from Flanders and the Netherlands and the English part should be a good start to become an international forum.

The rules are standard and basic. If neccessary, I can come up with some additional rules.

That's all for now, I think, I hope we'll get some active members soon
